About Us

Serving Lucas County For Over 50 Years

For many years, the churches of Lucas County have worked together to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. In 1982, as the farm crisis devastated rural America, this collaboration led to the creation of a Crisis Center dedicated to helping those facing the greatest hardships. The ministry continued to grow, and in the 1990s, the Crisis Center became the Ministry Center. To support our expanding mission, we purchased our current building on 7th Street, where we continue to serve the community today.

FAQ

Do you have any questions?

We know life is hard. Our goal is to help you as much as possible. Check out our FAQ's and if you still have other questions, fill out the Contact Us form and we'll get back to you by the next day.

Who can receive food from the pantry?

Anybody who lives in Lucas county may receive food once per 30 days. The first time you come, please bring your ID. We do not have any income restrictions.

Do you offer anything besides food?

Primarily our pantry caries staple food items, though you can always ask as we sometimes have diapers and baby formula available.

Can I pick up food for somebody else?

If the person you are picking up for has already received food from us before, yes. If it would be their first time receiving food, we prefer to serve the person receiving the food directly.

Do you help pay for gas?

We often have $25 vouchers available to help pay for gas. You need to come during normal food pantry hours and are limited in how many vouchers you may receive per year.
